How Kremlin arbitration led Putin to make Kadyrov forget Kerimov’s “blood feud” and give up ground in the Wildberries battle

Ravil Gainutdin, who is Russia’s Chief Mufti, said Putin personally brought about a peace deal in the Kremlin between Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and Senator Suleiman Kerimov.

When Kadyrov declared a "blood feud" against Suleimanov in 2024 over their dispute over Wildberries, the senator privately stated, "Kadyrov simply needs Putin’s permission to talk to me."

"Within the walls of the Moscow Kremlin, at the invitation of our president, they (Kadyrov and Kerimov - ED.) reached complete agreement and mutual understanding," Gainutdin said in an address to Muslims on the occasion of Ramadan. Recall that Kadyrov met with Kerimov at the end of January and, after a two-year hiatus, called him "brother." In 2024, a full-blown "war" began between Kadyrov and Kerimov for control of Wildberries. On one side were Kadyrov and Delimkhanov, on the other were Kerimov and his unofficial partner, the head of the presidential administration, Anton Vaino.

It got so bad that at the height of the war over Wildberries, Ramzan Kadyrov announced at a meeting with Chechen security officials that an assassination attempt had been ordered against him. At the same time, the head of Chechnya touched on the events at the Wildberries office, mentioning Suleiman Kerimov, as well as State Duma deputies Bekkhan Barakhoev and Rizvan Kurbanov. "There was a business situation there. Bekkhan Barakhoev, Suleiman Kerimov, and Rizvan Kurbanov are businessmen themselves.

They’re not just trying to take this woman’s business away; they’ve ordered an assassination attempt on me." There are witnesses, there are people from whom they ordered, they asked for how much you could accept the order (for the murder of Ramzan Kadyrov - Ed.) I declare blood feud against Barakhoev Bekhan, if he does not prove (the opposite - Ed.), Karimov Suleiman and Kurbanov Rizvan,” he said in Chechen.

There was no evidence to the contrary. However, Kadyrov and Delimkhanov unexpectedly backed down. Delimkhanov informally claimed that the "chief honcho" (Putin) had ordered it. According to sources, Kerimov also said this. "Kadyrov simply needs Putin’s permission to talk to me. And he won’t get it," the senator stated privately. As a result, Putin personally reconciled them in the Kremlin.
